OUR WORK

WHO WE ARE

Although in its infancy, our first steps are engaging with potential partners and discussing with experienced advisors how INTERYem should structure its activities.
However, we are certain that INTERYem needs to be perceived as a professional initiative with long-term, sustainable aims. Although certain individuals may have started the initial processes involved with INTERYem, we are developing organizational partnerships.
Interest is being generated amongst senior management teams of hospitals and involvement of partner NGOs is being explored. A critical mass of institutional awareness and interest is being created amongst staff so that the organization can self-sustain activities related to INTERYem.

Strategies & Plans

INTERYem endeavours to be an initiative that is responsive to the needs of Yemen, and works hard to understand the context of Yemeni health care and how it is different to the UK system. From this awareness, we are developing demand-required activities rather than supply-led activities. Conversely, it is at times necessary to prioritise between needs, and to distinguish between needs and non-evidence-based requests. Therefore, clear and open conversations need to take place regularly so that INTERYem’s activities can be planned in collaboration.
